Why voting is important?

This topic is requested by our follower, Mr.Haree.

10 REASONS TO VOTE

1. IT IS YOUR RIGHTS- every single citizen who is above 21 years old is capable of voting. Whatever party that you want to vote, it is your decision. No one can question you.

2. EVERY VOTE COUNTS- Maybe you will ask yourself, “Will a single vote make difference?” So, why bother? The truth is that your vote does count and you do make a difference every time you vote. You may think it’s just one vote, but what if there are 1000 people who thought the same?

3.TO CANCEL OUT SOMEONE ELSE’S VOTE- You would not know if your mother, father or friends vote against you. You can cancel out their vote.

4.IF YOU DO NOT VOTE, SOMEONE ELSE WILL VOTE FOR YOU – phantom voters? No evidence but it could be true.

5.YOU CANNOT COMPLAIN IF YOU DID NOT VOTE- Well, technically you can, but I will taunt you mercilessly. It is a simple equation-- when you vote, you earn the right to gripe.

6.CHOOSE WHO WILL MAKE DECISIONS FOR YOUR COUNTRY- after election, every decisions made by the people in power will be the final decision. Do not regret if there are few decisions which benefits certain people, not the whole community.

7.VOTE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION- Decisions we make today impact our children, grandchildren and all generations that follow. Make choices that will improve their lives by voting. It also sets a good example and encourages civil responsibility.

8.DEMOCRACY- feel how a real democracy country works. The people has the right to change the government.

9.PATRIOTISM -  as a part of being patriotic to the nation, you choose your leader so that your country will be better than before. Love your country.

10.DO OR DIE- It Is not like festivals that come yearly. Once you missed it, you need to wait till the next general election which comes minimum once every 3 years.

10 REASONS FOR YOUNG GENERATIONS TO VOTE

If they can vote, why can't you?

1)BUST THE STEREOTYPE
"Young people are lazy, they don't care, they won't vote." That's what they say. Let's prove them wrong. Young voters have to represent. Honestly, I'm sick and tired of hearing that our generation is apathetic and too self-involved to care about politics. It's just not true, and we need to change that mentality. Fine, we spend too much time on Facebook, but it's all for the greater good. IN FACT, IF ALL THE YOUNG GENERATIONS UNITE, WE CAN DECIDE THE GOVERNMENT. OUR POPULATION COUNTS MORE!!

2)LESS EFFORTS TO MAKE THE DIFFERENCES
If you're not registered, do it now. It only takes a couple of minutes. If you don't vote, I DON’T THINK YOU DESERVE TO CELEBRATE 31ST AUGUST AND 16TH SEPTEMBER, HONESTLY.

3)RUKUN NEGARA
The 2ND principle-KESETIAAN KEPADA RAJA DAN NEGARA AND 3RD principal KELUHURAN PERLEMBAGAAN.

4)LOST AND GAIN
Young people have the most to gain and lose in any election because they have to live with the consequences longer than anyone else.

5)FUN AND ENJOY
You can share your voting experiences with friends. And you can tease those who didn’t cast their vote as being invaluable to our country.

6)DEMOCRACY
Feel the power in your hands. “I CHOOSE MY LEADER.I DETERMINE MY COUNTRY’S FATE”.

7)FANATICISM
It is something like supporting a sports team. If the team wins, you will be happy. TRY AND SEE. IT’S A GREAT FEELING.

8)WISER DECISION
Young generations have more access to the IT world. So they are able get news from alternative medias to determine what is right and wrong.

9)FIT VOTERS
Young generations are more fit and healthy compared to elderly. So, we are able to go to the voting area without any problem.

10)BONUS REASON
At the polling location, you might get to finally meet that cute guy or girl you always see in your neighborhood. Plus, they'll be instantly impressed by your devotion to civic duty.

For those who have not registered, the deadline is 30TH September 2011. If you missed it, you can’t vote for the coming general election- MALAYSIANS only.

bheng’s wish is that there will be more younger generations will register as voters and vote during the elections. Therefore, spread this article, get into every single youth of this country. Tell them, inform them, that the country needs you. Please visit REG2VOTE for more information.
