BERSIH2.0 Stories from Twitter (#bersihstories) Part 1

1. I'm gonna remember at first police let us march in peace  Later after regroup, without warning,they attack us w teargas.


2. We were making escape fr TS Hosp b4 cops charge. But no 1rush at all helpin each other. Esp elderly. True spirit of unity 


3. Aku makan asap tear gas kt jlan gereja sambil lari ngan kaki ayam..

7. Reading . I have truly never felt more proud of Malaysia than i do right now. 9 July is the real 1Malaysia day.


8. I saw a man in clucthes,climbing the rd heading to Stadium Merdeka, heaving rain & tear gas. 30k ppl clapped in unison 


9. When I fell down,it wasn't the police who realized I'm from media,help carry me,give me water,call the ambulance..thank you

13. when we crossed roads, ppl shouted "jgn pijak rumput / tumbuh2an!" , such a civic concious crowd 


14.  random guy bought 2 box of mineral water and passed it to the crowd, random handshake, smiles and chats. Where got racism?


15. A skinny Malay chap next to me offers a piece of bread even it's barely enough for himself,without thinking twice.I'm touched


16. Shops opened up to let ppl wash their face and eyes after being teargassed. Salute!


17. Chinese chap handed us salt &water.Wife gave choc to a stranger.Sang Negaraku together.I perhaps almost all felt the tear gas


18. met new friends fm all races, sang Negaraku, shared water as we ran fm d gas, exchang


19. Smbil bjalan, kite org pegang tangan dgn random Indian & Chinese guys, nyanyi lagu Negaraku. FRU cuak beb


20. A man handed us d little salt left on his palm wen we're attacked by tear gas. He gave us all he had & didn't save 4 himself 


21. I went to a chinese shop to buy a 1.5L Mineral Bottle. The chinese owner smiled and said to me "RM1 I am Bersih Supporter"

    Need we say more? Malaysians today showed our leaders what it means to be truly Malaysian, tak kira bangsa, agama dan budaya. Satu Malaysia, Satu Visi!

    i like knowing that there're true muslims here who don't really care where they pray as long as they just pray and believe that God is not only in the masjid but also in their hearts. Sangat terharu. I love knowing that after all these racism fights i've witnessed, but when it comes to fighting for a better future, we all unite. How it's supposed to be.
